Receive Your Insurance CE Classes Online

Insurance is one of the most important things a person will ever have. Because of this fact, insurance agents need to be well-versed in their craft. After taking your pre-licensing classes and passing your insurance licensing exam, agents also need to take continuing education classes to fulfill state-mandated requirements and to ensure their knowledge doesn’t dwindle over time. But how many hours do you need to take? What classes are available? Discover this and more when you take your continuing education insurance classes online with Bob Brooks School

Louisiana CE Requirements

Each state has its own requirements for both pre-licensing and continuing education classes. For example, some states require more than a hundred hours for pre-licensing, while others only require about 40. It just depends! But when it comes to Louisiana’s continuing education requirements, it also depends on your line of insurance.

According to the Louisiana Department of Insurance, the state requires 24 hours of education producers who have a license for one or more of these lines:

  • Life
  • Health and accident
  • Property
  • Casualty
  • Personal insurance
  • 24 hours is also required for the adjuster license

On the other hand, those licensed for bail bonds or title insurance only have to take 12 hours. So really, it all depends on your location and focus.

Additionally, some lines require certain hours be dedicated to specific classes. For example, for the 24-hour lines, three of these hours must be for ethics. And, these requirements can sometimes change as well. One new update: bail bond renewals filed on or after August 1, 2020 must also include six hours on the bail enforcement topic. Make sure you’re always aware of any updates to the CE requirements before you finish your education. Because we invest in your success, Bob Brooks School is always staying on top of these updates.
