The Requirements to Get Your License in Louisiana and Mississippi
Most states have similar requirements to get your real estate license. But the main difference lies in the amount of education required. Some states require much more or less than others. Overall, applicants must be over the age of 18 and have a high school diploma/GED.
Other than that, there are small differences. Louisiana residents, for example, must complete 90-hours of pre-licensing education, pass a criminal background check, and provide proof of mandatory errors & omissions insurance. On the other hand, Mississippi residents need 60-hours of education beforehand but don’t require the other items.
There’s one other small difference between the two states—test scores. To pass, Louisianians need at least a 70% on the general portion of the exam and a 75% on the state portion.
